How to reach your goals today

An apple a day may keep the doctor away, but most people often act like they don’t know that a book a day keeps ignorance away as well. Or exercising and a good diet keeps the extra weight away and so on and so forth.

The daily activities that we practice are what determines how our life will go. You cannot make a lot of money without actively tying to sell things, study financial principles or similar activities. Same way it is pretty much impossible to create friends without actually talking to people.

Certain acts cause certain results or increase the likelihood of certain results.

Habits shape who we become. This is why if you ever did anything consistently for 66 days in a row it forms a permanent physical groove on your brain as a sign of permanent impact. If you ask many people if they can be successful, they are likely to say no or yes in a very doubtful manner. Their reasons would most likely be about lack of resources, wrong environment or a lack of a network. All of these could be true in most cases. However, one thing that is often underrated by some people is the power they have in at least controlling what they do.

Honestly, it is a whole lot of extra work that is needed by an individual to put success mostly in their own hands. But truth is it can be done. Practice certain habits daily and within a certain period you will begin to see real change. Because life is as is, the change may not necessarily be exactly as you predict or hope, but change is to be expected nonetheless.

Our biggest problem as people is not doing everything we can from our side. Yes, we work hard, but are not disciplined nearly enough. If you love to exercise and you have not kept a consistent training schedule for the last month, clearly you are not doing enough. If you are looking for a job and have not been working on your CV, cover letters and sending them, searching for jobs etc., everyday for the last month, have you really been giving it your all?

I am not by any means suggesting that the failure to achieve goals is your fault, I am only pointing out that the only part of the equation that you can control has not been working at the very highest level to confirm that what you want to achieve you cannot. It may be very hard and frustrating, but more can still be done about it.

This could have been a Hollywood movie where I suggest that you will become successful no matter what, but unfortunately it is not. The only thing I can guarantee is that if you truly give everything your all from your side, you will get as close as you can to your goals, perhaps even reach them. All you can do is put yourself in the best position to smash those goals.

Do as much as you can from your side so that you give yourself the best chance of success with the resources you have and the environment you are in.
